The public fallout between Nollywood actress Anita Joseph and her estranged husband, Michael Olagunju, popularly known as MC Fish, has taken another twist after Gbemisola reacted to a legal notice issued by the actress's lawyers.
Reacting to the notice, Gbemisola argued that the document was not a valid restraining order, insisting that under Nigerian law, only a court has the authority to issue one.
"We know the law. This is not African magic," she wrote.
She explained that while lawyers can issue demand letters or legal notices, a restraining order can only be granted by a competent court after due legal process.
According to Gbemisola, if Anita Joseph intends to obtain a restraining order, she must first approach the court, as no lawyer has the power to impose one.
Her response has added another layer to the ongoing social media drama surrounding Anita Joseph, MC Fish and Gbemisola, with many Nigerians weighing in on the legal argument and the couple's highly publicized marital dispute.
As of the time of filing this report, Anita Joseph and her legal team have not publicly responded to Gbemisola's remarks.
